2021 weather was the complete opposite of 2020 with dry conditions through most of the year…even into November. Needless to say, a lot of watering was required. Still, it was a wonderful bloom season with less rebloom than last year. Rains make a difference! I also had a bumper crop of seed (more than intended) leavening me wondering if I will have enough space. This is a problem that is easily solved by only growing the most promising crosses.
For 2022, I am introducing only 6 new daylilies. One is from my “teeth” line, one is hot yellow/red, one is extra-large and two are unusual forms. There will only be one double this year, but it is a knockout.I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.
I have some wonderful seedlings under evaluation for future introduction. Interestingly, I have never really worked in yellow, but now have unusual forms, extra-large and a few doubles coming in this color range. In addition, there are some gorgeous doubles including several with beautiful blue eyes.
