(T70-3) – [Velvet Onyx x Susan Pritchett Petit] TET 27”" 6"” EM SEv, 2 Branches, 12 Buds. Dark Command is a deep red-purple with yellow edging and represents a different look in doubles. Because of its lower bud count, I questioned whether I should introduce this beauty. In the end, its unique dark coloring and great plant habit answered

(T78-1) [Flamenco Christmas x Blueberry Baroque] TET 30”" 6"” M Dor Re, 4-5 Branches, 22-24 Buds. I reserved this name years ago not knowing when a daylily deserving of the name might come along. Date With Destiny has arrived. This is one of the best doubles that I have grown or seen. It is near perfect in every respect. The grape purple 

(T78-1) [Flamenco Christmas x Blueberry Baroque] TET 30”" 6"” M Dor Re, 4-5 Branches, 22-24 Buds. I reserved this name years ago not knowing when a daylily deserving of the name might come along. Date With Destiny has arrived. This is one of the best doubles that I have grown or seen. It is near perfect in every respect. The grape purple base color is accentuated by a deep purple eye and a double outer edge of deep purple and cream yellow. Sometimes, a slate blue line appears between the two outer bands. This daylily is 100% double…I have never seen a single bloom. In fact, it is so double that it is hard to find the parts to cross. However, it is fertile both ways and is throwing gorgeous seedlings. Standing proudly at a height of 45 inches, "Frances Lucile" is the larger of two 2024 introductions from this Gossard / Davisson cross and it makes a bold statement in any garden setting.  While "Frances Lucile" does crispate, it does not do so consistently and is registered as an extra-large variety. I am not sure whether to call it a red, orange, pink, salmon or the perfect blend of the four. The color is so pure, a true self, and looks good enough to eat! W

What really sets it off and sings to your heart, however, is the violet-blue watermark. With such wonderful branching, size and color, I suspect it will play to your heart as it does to mine.
